The Place Where I Feel Most At Home And What Makes It A Special Place For Me
by Amy Finkle
The place I feel most at home in is at my grandmothers house. I know it sounds silly that I wouldn’t pick my own house, but at my grandparents we do such fun things. First off, they live on a farm and have 26 acres of open forest and so we go walking in the woods. In the woods there is a pond and a cabin next to it that my pop built. In the summer we sleep over there and go fishing.
In the winter, we go ice skating and sledding. There is a cliff my cousins and I call a mountain and we climb it in the fall. There are many dogs Lucky, Tiki, Penny, Muffin, Honey Girl, and Gingersnap. They have horses and chickens and I have a rabbit there named Bunny. My favorites in the summer is swimming in their huge pool, vegetables from Pops huge gardens, playing in the pond with Greg and Ty.
In the winter we bake X-mas cookies and ginger bread houses for presents for the family. My gram has a huge bookcase with all picture albums of her three grandkids; me, Greg and Tyler. It is full to the ceiling. I love to look at them.
She also is a pack rat and has all my mom’s old clothes from high school. They fit me, but some are too big. She shows me how to sew, knit, and bake.
